The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has debunked reports claiming that the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been postponed, describing the information as false and misleading.
In a statement released on Saturday, Eko Hot Blog reports that the examination body urged candidates and the public to ignore the viral notice, stressing that it did not originate from the board.

JAMB clarified that all arrangements for the 2026 UTME remain unchanged and will proceed as earlier scheduled.
The board reaffirmed that the main examination is set to take place between April 16 and April 25, 2026.

This clarification comes after the conduct of the 2026 UTME mock examination on March 28, which was affected by technical issues in some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
Out of the 224,597 candidates who registered for the mock exercise, 152,586 were able to successfully participate across 989 centres nationwide.
JAMB disclosed that more than 20 CBT centres affected by technical glitches have since been removed from its list due to inadequate performance.

The board also warned candidates to be wary of fraudsters, particularly on WhatsApp, who claim they can manipulate or boost UTME scores.
It emphasized that such activities are illegal and could lead to serious consequences, including cancellation of results or disqualification from the examination process.
