The prime suspect in the murder of 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member Salome Adaidu, Timileyin Ajayi, appeared in court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Monday as his trial officially commenced.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Timileyin, who was first arraigned in January before Justice Simon Aboki of the High Court in Lafia, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Miss Salome Adaidu.
Her severed head was discovered in his possession, and other dismembered parts of her body were found at his residence during a search by security officials.
Ajayi faces a one-count charge of Culpable Homicide Punishable by Death, under Section 221 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria.

The court adjourned the case and set the trial to continue from March 17 to March 20.
