EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to findings, the trio — Gabam, National Auditor Nze Nnadi Clarkson, and National Youth Leader Uchechukwu Chukwuma — were accused of gross financial misconduct, embezzlement, and diversion of party funds. The party’s disciplinary committee was mandated to investigate the allegations following their suspension on July 4, 2025.
Air Vice Marshal Abubakar-Sadick Liman, who chaired the five-member investigative panel, presented the committee’s findings to Acting National Chairman, Dr. Sadiq Abubakar. He revealed that only Clarkson honoured the invitation, while Gabam and Chukwuma failed to appear before the panel.
Despite their absence, the committee stated it gathered sufficient evidence from testimonies of NWC members, personal staff of the suspended chairman, contractors, and the party’s external auditor. The committee also reviewed relevant documents to support its findings.
The probe panel accused the officials of breaching the party’s 2022 amended constitution, falsifying account submissions to INEC, and operating outside the approved financial procedures. It recommended their immediate expulsion and referral to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for prosecution.
The NWC is expected to act on the report and implement recommendations aimed at restoring financial discipline and accountability within the party. The committee stressed that this action would strengthen public confidence in the SDP and the country’s democratic system.
The party affirmed its commitment to promoting transparency, credibility, and integrity in its leadership structure.
