#SouthernKaduna: First Lady Celebrates 80k Twitter Followers Amid Ongoing Bloodshed

First lady of Kaduna State, Hadiza El-Rufai has come under fire for celebrating 80k Twitter followers amid the ongoing Southern Kaduna crisis.

Twitter users berated her for not showing emphaty over the killings in the Northern area.

She wrote:

Yay! 80,000 followers. @Omojuwa @DrJoeAbah

 How many more followers do I need in order to qualify as an ‘influenza’?”.

Southern Kaduna took the center spot on Nigerian Twitter trends following the alleged killing of some residents of a community in the North West state.

Some Twitter users who raised the alarm on the social media platform, likened the recent killings to genocide as they listed the casualty figure in Adara community of Kaduna state.

According to them, about 107 persons have been killed, 49 people have been injured, 66 persons kidnapped, 111 houses burnt, 32 villages destroyed and 20,000 people have been displaced in the Kaduna community from January till date.

Some of the casualties of herdsmen attack on Southern Kaduna communities currently being treated in hospitals across Kaduna State are recounting their ordeal at the hands of their attackers.

Between May 19 to 24, the herdsmen attacked Idazau, Etissi, Bakin Kogi, Dutsen Gora, UN Gora, Pushu Kallah and Magunguna villages, killing five, injuring 78, destroying 607 houses and rustling 231 cows in the process.

Recently, a 12-year-old boy named Filibus Magaji, who was hospitalised at a facility in Barau Dikko,was hailed as a hero after he reportedly fought off the attackers as they hacked his father with dangerous weapons.
