- Students Allegedly Set Principal’s House on Fire Over NECO Exam Fees
- The student were final year students of Gyutiev Model College in Benue
- The students claimed that the principal failed to register them for the 2025 NECO exam
Final year students of Gyutiev Model College in Saghev Ward, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State have allegedly set fire to the home of their principal, Mr Isaac Yina.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident took place in the early hours of Friday.

The students claimed that the principal failed to register them for the 2025 National Examinations Council (NECO) exam, despite collecting 85,000 naira from each of the 178 students.

The Public Relations Officer of the Benue State Police Command, Udeme Edet, said she had not yet received an official report. She, however, promised to provide information once she had it.

This incident comes amid recent turmoil in the Guma area, including a deadly attack in the Yelwata community that claimed over 200 lives.
