Prominent activist Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, reached out to state and federal authorities for formal partnership.

He noted that the initiative is designed specifically to track down and eliminate syndicates of kidnappers, bandits, and rogue herders who have established camps deep within the regional forests.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the call for decisive action is directly tied to a horrific security breach that took place last Friday in Oriire Local Government Area, where bandits launched coordinated raids on Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, alongside Community Grammar School and L.A. Primary School in Esiele.
The attackers abducted several pupils and staff members, leading to a national outcry.
Tension escalated significantly on Sunday after the kidnappers executed one of their captives, a mathematics teacher identified as Michael Oyedokun, sending shockwaves through rural communities and the academic sector across the state.

Stressing the need to avoid unilateral actions that could clash with constitutional authorities, Igboho maintained that his men will not commence their planned onslaught without the explicit blessings of the Nigerian Army, the Police Force, and the Department of State Services (DSS).
He argued that rural farmers and villagers are currently bearing the direct brunt of violent killings, insisting that local communities can no longer afford to fold their hands or procrastinate while criminal networks operate with apparent impunity along the borders of the South West and parts of Kwara State.
The activist also appealed to revered traditional rulers across the Yoruba speaking states to use their institutional influence to press government officials for the swift approval of the security outfit.
As regional stakeholders and South West governors face mounting pressure to safeguard public schools and rural agrarian zones, this proposed intervention by the Iru Ekun Security Network introduces a complex dynamic to the region’s existing community policing frameworks.
It places the focus heavily on how conventional state forces intend to coordinate with local actors to restore long-term stability and regional peace.
