Nigeria’s Super Falcons have officially received the reward package promised by the Federal Government following their victory at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the the presentation took place on Tuesday in Rabat, Morocco, just before the team’s opening Group C fixture against Malawi at the 2026 WAFCON.

Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Shehu Dikko, handed over the rewards in the presence of Nigeria Football Federation General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, and team captain Rasheedat Ajibade.
Images shared by the NFF on its official X account showed the presentation ceremony, with each player receiving documents believed to include ownership papers for the three-bedroom houses promised by the Federal Government, along with certificates of their national honours.
In a statement, the NFF confirmed the presentation, noting that the rewards fulfilled the Federal Government’s pledge to the African champions.
The Super Falcons secured their record 10th WAFCON title after staging a remarkable comeback from two goals down to defeat hosts Morocco 3-2 in the final of the 2024 edition.
Following that triumph, President Bola Tinubu announced a reward package that included $100,000 for each player, $50,000 for every member of the coaching crew and support staff, a three-bedroom house for every team member, and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
While the financial rewards were paid earlier after administrative procedures were completed, the presentation of the housing documents and national honours certificates was delayed until the team regrouped for this year’s continental championship.
Speaking before travelling to Morocco, Dikko explained that the timing of the presentation was deliberate, saying it would allow all players to receive their rewards together and serve as motivation ahead of the tournament.
He also confirmed that the cash rewards had already been credited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
The presentation comes as the Super Falcons begin their quest for an unprecedented 11th WAFCON title. After facing Malawi in their opening match, Nigeria will take on Zambia before concluding the group stage against Egypt.
