The Tinubu-Hamzat Epe Division Solidarity Front (THEDSF) has intensified its stakeholder engagement across Epe Division ahead of its formal inauguration, with the group paying a strategic consultation visit to former Lagos State House of Assembly member, Hon. Olusegun Olulade Eleniyan.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the engagement, led by the Director-General of THEDSF, Comrade Giwa Moshood Olasupo (G.M.O.), focused on grassroots mobilisation, youth participation, voter education and strategies for achieving a strong electoral outcome for the movement’s preferred candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The delegation was received by Olulade, popularly known as Eleniyan, who represented Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly for two terms. His experience in grassroots politics and public service provided a valuable platform for discussions on political mobilisation and effective stakeholder engagement within the division.
Speaking during the consultation, Comrade Giwa Moshood Olasupo explained that THEDSF was established to promote political awareness and encourage active participation in the democratic process, particularly among youths across Epe Division.
He said the movement’s mandate goes beyond electioneering, as it seeks to deepen voter education, promote civic responsibility and encourage residents to become more involved in decisions affecting their communities and the country.
According to Giwa, THEDSF is committed to mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, ahead of the 2027 elections.
Giwa said the movement was developing a structured grassroots mobilisation strategy covering wards, communities and polling units across Epe Division.
“We are looking at a strategy that will take our mobilisation to the grassroots. We want to engage our wards, communities, youths and other stakeholders effectively so that the support we are building will translate into massive votes in 2027,” he said.
The Director-General explained that the strategy would involve sustained engagement with youths, political stakeholders, community leaders, grassroots organisations and other relevant groups to ensure effective coordination ahead of the elections.
He stressed the importance of voter education and urged eligible residents to participate actively in the electoral process.
“Our responsibility is not only to ask people to vote. We must sensitise them, educate them on their civic responsibilities and ensure that they understand the importance of their participation in determining the leadership of the country and Lagos State,” Giwa stated.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of THEDSF to peaceful political engagement, constructive dialogue and collaboration with stakeholders across Epe Division.
Responding to the delegation, Hon. Olusegun Olulade Eleniyan emphasised the importance of strategic planning, unity and effective grassroots coordination in achieving the movement’s objectives ahead of 2027.
The former lawmaker urged THEDSF to take its mobilisation beyond political meetings and ensure that its structures are effectively established across wards, communities and polling units.
He stressed that political support must ultimately translate into votes at the grassroots.
“We must take the mobilisation down to the polling units. It is not enough to have meetings or show that we have support; the real test is how that support translates into votes across the various polling units in Epe Division,” Olulade said.
He urged members of the movement to work collectively and ensure that no community or polling unit is left behind in the mobilisation drive.
According to him, the strength of the youth population in Epe Division presents a major opportunity for greater political participation and leadership development.
“The youths have a very important role to play in determining the future of our society. We must encourage them to participate actively and responsibly in the political process,” he said.
Olulade also encouraged the group to draw inspiration from Epe Division’s political history, noting that the division has produced prominent leaders who have contributed significantly to the development of Lagos State.
He referenced notable figures associated with the division, including former Lagos State Governor Sir Michael Otedola, former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, stressing the need to sustain the division’s tradition of producing leaders.
He further called for a coordinated effort to deliver a massive and convincing electoral outcome from Epe Division in 2027.
“Epe Division must be prepared to deliver a massive vote. We have the population, we have the people and we have the political strength. What is required is unity, proper coordination and a deliberate strategy that will ensure that our votes count,” Olulade stated.
The former legislator advised THEDSF to leverage the experience of political leaders and stakeholders within the division while developing its mobilisation framework.
He also underscored the importance of unity and discipline among stakeholders, noting that achieving a strong electoral performance requires collective responsibility, effective communication and a well-organised grassroots structure.
The consultation provided an opportunity for the delegation and the former lawmaker to exchange views on the political landscape of Epe Division and strategies for strengthening political participation ahead of the 2027 elections.
THEDSF reaffirmed that its activities would remain focused on peaceful political participation, voter sensitisation, youth mobilisation and constructive collaboration with stakeholders.
The consultation with Olulade forms part of a wider series of engagements being undertaken by the movement ahead of its formal inauguration, as the organisation seeks to establish a robust and coordinated grassroots structure across Epe Division.
The group said it would continue consultations with political leaders, traditional institutions, youth organisations, community stakeholders and other relevant groups as it works towards its objectives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
