The All Progressives Congress (APC) has categorically refuted claims of a rift between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, dismissing speculations that Tinubu is considering a new running mate for the 2027 elections.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the ruling party has attributed these rumors to a malicious propaganda campaign meant to create a false narrative of discord between the two leaders.

“Even if, for any reason, the president were to consider replacing the vice president, he cannot do so singlehandedly.

Such a decision would require extensive consultation with critical stakeholders,” he said.

In the run up to the 2023 election Tinubu had picked Senator Kashim Shettima, former Governor of Borno State, as his running mate after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State.
