- Former APC spokesperson Timi Frank has condemned the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, for allegedly inciting internal crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
- In a viral video, Gbajabiamila was heard urging Hon. Leke Abejide to “fight” and “scatter” the ADC rather than defecting, a move Frank describes as a deliberate attempt by the presidency to destabilize opposition parties.
- Frank has called for Gbajabiamila’s resignation and urged the United States government to investigate and sanction the Chief of Staff, citing his status as a U.S. citizen and potential interference in judicial independence.
The political atmosphere in the nation’s capital turned frosty on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, as Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), unleashed a scathing critique of Femi Gbajabiamila.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the backlash follows a video from a 50th birthday celebration where the Chief of Staff was caught on camera rallying Hon. Leke Abejide to remain in the ADC and “scatter” the opposition from within.

Frank argued that the Chief of Staff’s remarks reflect the “body language” of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, suggesting a systemic effort to truncate democracy by weakening rival parties like the PDP, Labour Party, and NNPP.
“When a Chief of Staff speaks, it reflects the President. This is a deliberate attempt to consolidate power through destabilization,” Frank stated.
In a unique twist, Frank emphasized Gbajabiamila’s U.S. citizenship, arguing that his conduct makes him a “bad ambassador of the United States.” He announced plans to petition the U.S. Embassy, demanding an investigation into whether the presidential aide is meeting his tax obligations relative to his Nigerian earnings.
Frank insisted that in a developed democracy like the U.S., such comments would have triggered an immediate resignation.
The ADC is currently paralyzed by leadership disputes between rival camps.
While some members have advocated for a merger with the APC, Gbajabiamila’s leaked advice to “hold on to your party” and “good luck in court” has been interpreted by critics as executive interference in ongoing judicial processes.
