“Today, we celebrate another proud moment in our democratic journey, a history not defined by any individual, but by our collective resolve,” the president said.
Reflecting on his emergence as APC candidate in 2022 and eventual victory at the polls, Tinubu added: “Today, I return as your incumbent President, humbled by your enduring support and encouraged by your continued confidence.”
He declared that the next phase for the ruling party was to sustain continuity and deepen reforms already initiated by his administration.

“I accept, with humility and profound gratitude, the nomination of our great party, the APC, to stand again as its Presidential candidate,” he stated.
The president said his government had taken difficult but necessary decisions to stabilise the economy, strengthen public finances and improve revenue generation through fiscal and tax reforms.
According to him, the administration has also expanded access to education through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.
“We promised to remove the financial barriers to higher education for our youths. Today, we have established the Nigerian Education Loan Fund,” Tinubu said.
He disclosed that over ₦282 billion had so far been disbursed to more than 1.5 million beneficiaries under the student loan scheme.
On electricity reforms, Tinubu said his government had supplied about 2.5 million electricity meters and introduced a ₦4 trillion bond programme aimed at clearing longstanding debts owed to power generation and gas companies.
“Under our administration, power generation sometimes peaked at 6000MW, 50 per cent higher than we had inherited,” he said.
The president also defended the removal of fuel subsidy and exchange rate reforms, insisting they were necessary steps towards restoring macroeconomic stability and investor confidence.
He said his administration remained committed to large-scale infrastructure development across transportation, housing, energy and digital connectivity.
“We are building concrete, durable roads and superhighways along the coast and on the Sokoto-Badagry route that will last for over 100 years,” Tinubu said.
While acknowledging the economic hardship faced by many Nigerians, the president assured citizens that his administration was working towards long-term solutions.
On insecurity, Tinubu said his government would continue strengthening the country’s security architecture while pushing for constitutional amendments to allow the creation of state police.
“We also expect the National Assembly to amend the Constitution to allow the creation of state police as a matter of national emergency,” he said.
He maintained that his administration’s focus would remain on industrialisation, food security, energy stability, infrastructure expansion and democratic consolidation.
“Our mission remains clear: To build a Nigeria where every life is secure, where enterprise thrives, and where young people find opportunity,” the president stated.
Tinubu also called for unity across political, ethnic and regional lines, pledging to lead a more inclusive government if re-elected in 2027.
“I pledge to build an even more inclusive government, one that listens, learns, and leads with the best interests of all Nigerians at heart,” he said.
