According to him, the Agbowa Timberville Project was conceived as part of the state government’s strategic relocation and redevelopment initiative aimed at creating a safer, more organised and environmentally sustainable hub for timber merchants and sawmill operators previously operating within densely populated parts of Lagos.
Abiodun stated that the project has continued to record major milestones, including the construction and handover of 260 units of two-bedroom flats to sawmill operators, installation of critical power infrastructure, and ongoing road and accessibility improvements within the facility.
He explained that the project aligns with the THEMES+ Agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development, economic diversification, environmental sustainability and improved living conditions.

The Special Adviser added that beyond providing a conducive environment for timber business operations, the Agbowa Timberville Project is expected to stimulate economic activities, create employment opportunities and improve efficiency across the timber value chain.
He further reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing innovative urban development policies and programmes that will promote orderly physical planning, urban renewal, housing sustainability and smart city initiatives across Lagos State.
Abiodun also commended stakeholders, community leaders, private sector partners and residents for their cooperation and support towards the successful execution of urban development projects in the state.
The 2026 ministerial press briefing provided an opportunity for the Office of Urban Development and its agencies to present key achievements, ongoing projects and future plans aimed at improving the quality of life of Lagos residents and ensuring a more resilient urban environment.
