President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to participate in the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit, which begins on January 27, 2025.
The President touched down at 10:20 p.m. local time (8:20 p.m. Nigerian time) and was warmly received by Tanzania’s Foreign Minister, Amb. Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, and Nigeria’s Chargé d’Affaires to Tanzania, Ambassador Salisu Suleiman.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the two-day summit, hosted by the Tanzanian government in collaboration with the African Union, African Development Bank Group, and World Bank Group, seeks to advance Africa’s energy access and sustainability goals.
On the opening day, representatives from participating countries, including Nigeria, will present their national energy strategies, referred to as energy compacts. These compacts outline each country’s approach to achieving universal energy access within five years.
The second day of the summit will feature heads of state endorsing the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration, a comprehensive roadmap designed to align Africa’s efforts toward the Mission 300 objectives.
President Tinubu is expected to deliver a national address, reaffirming Nigeria’s dedication to achieving universal energy access and showcasing its leadership in Africa’s energy transition. He will also spotlight Nigeria’s clean energy projects and its strategy for integrated energy delivery across the continent.

The President is accompanied by key officials, including Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of Power Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mr. Olu Verheijen, and his Special Adviser on Energy, alongside other senior government officials.
