Tinubu warned that the country cannot make meaningful progress when one part of the national structure remains overwhelmed by violence, banditry and fear, stressing that rebuilding trust and restoring peace in northern communities must be treated as a national priority.

He noted that his administration inherited deeply rooted security challenges but is tackling them with urgency, firmness and renewed strategies aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and reversing the region’s economic setbacks.
The president also expressed optimism about the North’s economic future, revealing that he looks forward to seeing crude oil production and transportation begin fully from Kolmani and other northern oil fields.
Highlighting infrastructure as a key pillar of development, Tinubu said that major projects, including the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Superhighway, are being accelerated to boost commerce and ease movement across the region.
He called on northern leaders to speak boldly and act decisively in defence of vulnerable communities, warning that the region cannot afford further decline in education, agriculture and security.

According to Tinubu, the moral duty of leadership is to ensure that no citizen goes to bed hungry or terrified, noting that decades of dysfunction have strained unity but not destroyed the resolve of northern people.
He praised the Arewa Consultative Forum for its 25 years of advocacy, describing the group as a stabilising force that has consistently defended fairness, justice and social cohesion.
Tinubu urged leaders across all sectors to recommit to the values of unity and service, emphasising that the stability of Northern Nigeria is essential for the peace and development of the entire country.
