President Bola Tinubu, state governors, ministers, and other top dignitaries are set to attend the 21st All Nigeria Editors’ Conference, which begins on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, in Abuja.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the two-day event, organised by the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), will be held at the State House Conference Centre, Aso Villa, with President Tinubu expected to formally declare the conference open.

According to a statement signed by the NGE President, Eze Anaba, and General Secretary, Onuoha Ukeh, the conference will bring together over 500 editors, media executives, diplomats, academics, and stakeholders from across the country.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, and Chairman of Arise News and ThisDay Newspapers, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, will preside over different sessions, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, will deliver the keynote address.
Other confirmed guests include Governors Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa), and Abba Yusuf (Kano). Media veterans such as Chief Segun Osoba, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, Femi Adesina, and Garba Shehu are also expected to grace the occasion.
The conference, themed “Democratic Governance and National Cohesion: The Role of Editors”, will explore the editor’s role in strengthening democracy and national unity. A sub-theme, “Electoral Integrity and Trust Deficit: What Nigerians Expect in 2027,” will guide discussions on credible elections and public trust.

Legal expert Prof. Awa Kalu (SAN) and political scientist Prof. Sheriff Ibrahim will lead Wednesday’s sessions, while on Thursday, former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, and Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi of Baze University will address issues on media credibility and national security.
Corporate partners for the event include Air Peace Airlines, the NNPC Limited, and the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
