EKO HOT BLOG reports that the meeting, held at the Presidential Villa, was attended by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and three former governors — Ayodele Fayose (Ekiti), Samuel Ortom (Benue), and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia).
Although no official details have been made public regarding the agenda of the meeting, its composition has drawn attention due to the participants’ known political affiliations and recent interactions with the president.
Sources familiar with the meeting told Daily Post that all four PDP leaders present have, in recent times, shown varying levels of support for the Tinubu administration, despite still being affiliated with the opposition.
“Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and former Governors Samuel Ortom and Okezie Ikpeazu met with the President today at the Villa,” the source confirmed.
The development comes barely a week after Fayose visited Tinubu at his Bourdillon residence in Lagos during the Sallah holiday. Speaking after that visit, Fayose stated that he had come to encourage the president and affirm his continued support for his leadership, praising Tinubu’s economic policies and resilience in the face of challenges.
Saturday’s meeting has reignited talks about possible political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, particularly considering Wike’s current role in Tinubu’s cabinet and the recent growing distance between some PDP leaders and the party’s national leadership.

While the Presidency has not issued an official statement on the meeting, analysts say the engagement signals Tinubu’s ongoing strategy of consolidating political support across party lines.
