Represented by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu warned that insurgents aim to undermine national reforms by creating “counter-states” that threaten Nigeria’s stability and growth.
“I will seize this opportunity to draw your attention to the ills of insurgency and other security challenges to our nation,” he said. “The goal of the insurgents and terrorists is to counteract our developmental reforms by creating counter-states. Yours is to safeguard the economic and core values of the nation to prevent the collapse of the economy and revitalise the Armed Forces, despite the enemies’ indiscriminate violence and baseless propaganda.”

He reminded the graduating cadets to uphold the vision of Nigeria’s founding fathers, no matter the complexity of the nation’s security challenges.
The President commended the NDA for embracing technological innovation in training and military research, describing it as crucial to improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
He also lauded the institution for overhauling its training curricula in line with modern security demands.
A total of 472 cadets were commissioned into the Armed Forces: 218 into the Army, 135 into the Navy, and 119 into the Air Force, in addition to Short Service cadets.
Six cadets received special awards for excellence in academics, military training, and extracurricular activities.
Tinubu congratulated the new officers and charged them to demonstrate courage, discipline, and patriotism in defending the nation.
