EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking during his monthly media chat on Friday, Otti said he has no reason to challenge the President’s second term bid, noting that he is also seeking re-election.
“I am not in a position to oppose the candidacy of the President. I am not running for President.
“Why would I oppose his presidency? I am also seeking a second term. Would it be right for me to say someone else should not have theirs?” he said.
The governor said it would be inconsistent for him to deny another elected official the opportunity to seek a second term.
He dismissed attempts to interpret his stance along party lines, stressing that governance requires cooperation across federal, state and local levels.
According to him, while disagreements may arise within the system, decisions taken must be respected in line with democratic principles.
Otti also warned against politically motivated narratives aimed at creating tension, insisting such claims often do not stand up to scrutiny.

On his political future, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to the Labour Party, stating that internal issues within the party have been resolved following a Supreme Court decision recognised by the electoral body.
“The party is back on its feet,” he said, adding that preparations for congresses and a national convention are ongoing.
