A three-storey building has collapsed in the Lekki area of Lagos, resulting in two fatalities and the rescue of six individuals so far.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, with Permanent Secretary Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu providing the details.

According to Oke-Osanyintolu, while the immediate cause of the collapse has not yet been determined, further investigations are underway. “Two adult males have been extricated from the rubble, and six more seriously injured adult males were rescued.
They received urgent medical attention from the LRU Pre-Hospital Care Unit before being transported to Marina General Hospital for further treatment,” the statement read.
LASEMA has mobilized its Response Teams to begin Search and Rescue operations at the scene. In addition, the Lagos Road Transport (LRT) is coordinating with other key stakeholders to ensure an effective response.
