According to Wahab, traders at the market allegedly obstructed LAGESC officers who were carrying out their lawful duties and attacked personnel of the agency during an operation aimed at arresting suspected hoodlums and beggars within the market premises.
The commissioner further alleged that the traders prevented the officials from apprehending the suspects and vandalised operational vehicles belonging to the agency during the incident, which reportedly occurred on Monday.

Wahab stated that the closure of the market became necessary following the attack on government officials, adding that investigations and other enforcement actions are ongoing.
He, however, did not indicate when the Oshodi Resettlement Market would be reopened.
