Tributes Pour As Femi Keshinro Is Laid To Rest In Epe

Family, friends, colleagues of late Mr. Femi Keshinro were thrown into grief and despair as the astute professional, community man, philanthropist and Unionist, was finally laid to rest at St Michael Anglican Church Cemetery, Ita-Marun, Epe.

As gathered by Eko Hot Blog, a commendation service was held in his honour at Our Saviour Anglican Church, Oto-Awori, Lagos, on 11th August 2021. Thursday 12th and Friday 13th August 2021, witnessed his Wake keep / lying-in-state and Funeral service, held at St Michael Anglican Church, Popo-Oba, Epe.

Notable sympathizers from all works of life present include Hon Abiodun Tobun, Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Epe Constituency I, Hon Adedoyin Adesanya, immediate past Chairman, Epe Local Government, Prof Onabamiro (TASUED), Mr Saheed Adenusi, Hon Bola Gbabijo, Former member representing Epe Federal Constituency, National Assembly.

The moment when one of the deceased’s daughters read a heartbreaking tribute to her late dad.

Members of religious and academic associations present were Spiritual leaders from Our Saviour and St Michael Anglican churches both from Oto-Awori and Epe, Federal College of Education, Osiele Abeokuta Alumni Association, Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED) COEASU executives, Adeniran Ogunsanya College Of Education (AOCOED) COEASU executives and Epe Grammar School Old Student Association (EGOSA) 78-83 set were also present to pay their last respect.

The veteran academician, who was aged 55, is survived by an aged mother, wife and his two daughters.

Some of the tributes that were said in honour of the deceased rued the void his departure has left in the hearts of many.

“FM, you were such a mannered, pleasant, and polite husband and father to us. Your good nature attracted people the moment you walked into any gathering because of your simplicity, nice and different way of life. You are happy whenever your girls compliment your outfit” – Wife.

“What a great father my father was. My father always told me “never trust no one, only God, even me your father,” but I still trusted you. My father never made my sister and I lack anything, he made sure we were his first priority (Awa Iyawo Kesh),” The 1st daughter.

“He was the most courageous and resourceful man. I never questioned his love for me because he made it so obvious. He brought me up in the way of Christ, he taught me and my sister how to pray at a very young age. I am happy he died in Christ, my Daddy was my hero, I still feel him with me each day,” – 2nd daughter.

“Femkesh!!! My own brother & friend. When we met at the SDC, he asked after every member of my family by name, reminiscing the type of brotherhood & bond that held us together during the 2008-2013 COEASU National Executive Council.” – Dr Emmanuel Asagha, former President, COEASU.

The distraught wife was assisted by family members to bid final goodbye to the deceased.
