Family members, friends, associates, religious leaders, and well-wishers gathered in Odomola, Epe, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, for the 8-Day Fidau Prayer and Final Burial Ceremony of Madam Wosila Aina Onigbanjo, whose life was celebrated for its enduring legacy of love, kindness, and service to humanity.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the event, held at Bade Adebowale Street, Joy Rich Road, Odomola, drew a large crowd of sympathizers who came to offer prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul and to support the family during the solemn occasion.
Islamic clerics led special prayers, seeking Allah’s forgiveness, mercy, and eternal rest for the deceased while reminding attendees of the importance of living a life of good character and service to others.
Speaking on behalf of the family, her daughter, Hon. Fawsat, a former councillor of ward A3 in Epe LG, paid an emotional tribute to her late mother, describing her as a woman whose life revolved around love, compassion, discipline, and selfless service.
“Our mother raised us with genuine love and care. She taught us to always have human feelings, to show compassion to people around us, and to be willing to help those in need.
She believed that no act of kindness is too small and always encouraged us to support others whenever we had the opportunity,” she said.
According to her, Madam Onigbanjo instilled strong moral values in her children and taught them the importance of humility, honesty, unity, and respect for all people regardless of their background.
“She taught us to live peacefully with others, to respect elders, to be hardworking, and to remain united as a family. Her life was a practical example of kindness, sacrifice, and unconditional love,” Hon. Fawsat added.
Also speaking during the ceremony, her son, Otunba Wale Balogun, offered prayers for the repose of his mother’s soul and urged his siblings to continue upholding the values she cherished throughout her lifetime.
“I pray that Almighty Allah grants our mother Aljanah Firdaus and forgives her shortcomings.
My appeal to my brothers and sisters is that we should never depart from the love and unity that our mother built among us. That is one of the greatest legacies she left behind,” he said.
Otunba Balogun noted that preserving family unity would be the best way to honor their mother’s memory and ensure that her teachings continue to guide future generations.
“Our mother always wanted to see us together, supporting one another and living in peace. We must continue to uphold those values and ensure that the bond she nurtured remains strong,” he added.
Several family members, friends, and associates also shared fond memories of the deceased, describing her as a caring mother, dependable friend, and a woman who touched many lives through her generosity and wise counsel.
Many attendees recalled her willingness to assist people in times of need and her commitment to promoting peace and harmony within the family and the wider community.
The gathering concluded with prayers for the deceased and words of encouragement to the bereaved family as guests reflected on a life that exemplified compassion, service, and devotion to family values.
Though Madam Wosila Aina Onigbanjo has departed this world, those who knew her say her legacy of love, unity, kindness, and service to humanity will continue to inspire generations to come.
