In a statement issued on Saturday, the Acting Military Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, said the rescued victims comprised four adults and two infants who were abducted in Mussa, Askira/Uba Local Government Area in May.
Goni described the latest operation as another significant breakthrough in the ongoing effort to recover the abducted students of Government Day Secondary School, Lassa.
He explained that sustained exploitation by troops led to the successful rescue of the victims at Talakawa.
According to the military, the rescued victims have been evacuated to a secure location where they are receiving comprehensive medical evaluation and appropriate care.
The statement added that the victims had been provided with relief materials and other basic necessities to ease the effects of their captivity, while arrangements are being made to reunite them with their families.
During the operation, troops also recovered 50 rounds of PKT ammunition abandoned by fleeing insurgents along their withdrawal route.
The military said the recovery reflected the effectiveness of the ongoing offensive operations and the pressure being mounted on terrorist groups in the North-East.

The Theatre Command reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining search-and-rescue operations until all remaining abductees are safely recovered.
