EKO HOT BLOG reports that FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed the U.S. government’s deep involvement in the global tournament, commending President Trump and the White House for their support. “We have received such a big support from the government and from the president with the White House taskforce for the FIFA Club World Cup and for the FIFA World Cup next year,” Infantino stated.
He added that FIFA’s commitment to global football development demands local engagement. “FIFA is a global organisation, and to be global you have to be local. That’s why we must be in New York,” Infantino noted.
The 2025 Club World Cup, held in the United States, featured a revamped format with 32 participating clubs — mirroring the traditional FIFA World Cup structure.
Chelsea have already booked their place in Sunday’s grand finale after defeating Brazil’s Fluminense 2-0 in the semi-final. Star striker Joao Pedro, recently signed from Brighton, was the hero of the match, scoring both goals to send the English club into the final.
Chelsea will now await the outcome of the second semi-final between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, set to kick off at 8 p.m. tonight at the same venue.
Manchester City, the reigning champions, exited the competition earlier, leaving Chelsea with a clear opportunity to return the trophy to England.

Sunday’s final is expected to draw global attention, especially with the presence of President Trump, marking a rare presidential appearance at a major international football event on American soil.
