The impact caused the Honda to veer into the opposite lane, leading to significant damage to both vehicles.
According to LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Honda Accord had a single occupant, while the Suzuki Alto carried three passengers; Mr Joseph, a Basic Technology teacher, and two students, Animashaun Ridwan and Ogunbamowo Michael, both in JSS 2. Fortunately, all occupants survived without serious injuries.
“Two of the students complained of head and eye discomfort and were promptly attended to by emergency responders, stabilised, and given first aid before being released to their parents,” Oke-Osanyintolu said.
Emergency officials ensured the safe evacuation of all victims and cleared the damaged Suzuki Alto from the road to prevent further accidents. Both vehicles have been handed over to the police for investigation.

The LASEMA spokesperson urged motorists to exercise caution, highlighting the dangers of excessive speed. “Reckless driving and speeding endanger lives and could lead to serious accidents. All road users must prioritise safety, observe speed limits, and adhere strictly to traffic regulations,” he said.
This incident underscores the ongoing need for vigilance and responsible driving on Lagos roads, particularly on busy expressways where high-speed collisions can have devastating consequences.
