A male pedestrian has been confirmed dead following a hit-and-run accident along the Sagamu–Ijebu-Ode Expressway in Ogun State on Christmas Day.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident occurred at about 8:00 a.m. near Odogbolu Junction, inbound Ijebu-Ode, according to the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE).

TRACE spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene immediately after the crash, before emergency responders could arrive.
Photographs from the scene showed the victim lying lifeless by the roadside, with severe injuries, particularly to the head, indicating a violent impact.

Confirming the incident, Akinbiyi said, “There was a case of hit-and-run by an unidentified vehicle at Odogbolu Junction, inbound Ijebu-Ode, on the Sagamu–Ijebu-Ode Expressway.”
He later disclosed that relatives of the deceased arrived at the scene and evacuated the body for burial.
“The earlier reported hit-and-run at Odogbolu Junction has been evacuated by his family members for burial,” he added.
Authorities have yet to identify the fleeing driver as investigations continue.
