EKO HOT BLOG reports that AFRICOM disclosed this in a statement posted on its official X handle on Tuesday, describing the delivery as a reflection of the existing security partnership between the United States and Nigeria.
According to the command, the supplies were delivered in Abuja and are intended to strengthen Nigeria’s capacity to respond to security threats. It noted that the move highlights continued cooperation between both countries in addressing regional security challenges.
“US forces delivered critical military supplies to our Nigerian partners in Abuja. This delivery supports Nigeria’s ongoing operations and emphasizes our shared security partnership,” AFRICOM stated.
Nigeria has faced increasing security concerns in recent months, with kidnapping, banditry and terrorist attacks reported across several states, particularly in the North West and North East regions.
The military support comes weeks after US forces carried out airstrikes on terrorist enclaves in North West Nigeria on Christmas Day, as part of joint efforts to curb insurgency and other violent activities threatening lives and property.

Security analysts say continued international cooperation remains critical as Nigeria intensifies efforts to restore stability and protect civilians in affected communities.
