Job Title: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Gbagada, Lagos

Job Purpose
The Chief Executive Officer will manage day-to-day operations of our company build and model a great company culture, provide inspired leadership to our executive team, establish a great working relationship with the board of directors and set a course for company strategy.
The office will catalyse high-impact partnerships, elevate the business voice to policy makers and provide a visible platform.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership / Strategy:
Lead the scaling up of a fully active and invested E-commerce Company
Responsible for driving revenue and long-term financial stability, as well as strategic planning and partnerships for maximum value and impact on overall business goals
Culture: responsible for establishing a workplace culture that delivers productivity by fostering staff engagement, satisfaction and wellbeing
Advisory Board: Develop a distinguished Advisory Board to provide technical and strategic support in identifying / setting priorities, developing and vetting opportunities and prioritising work streams
Strategy: Annual planning and goal setting, ensuring alignment with mission and business goals
Value Chain Analysis: identify and analyse the primary and support activities and partnerships that add value to the organisation’s strategic objectives to drive efficiency and achievement of defined objectives
Financial Performance and Viability:
Ensure fiscal integrity of the organisation, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organisation
Responsible for developing and monitoring budget; overseeing P&L, balance sheet and cash flow management
Liaise with both public and private partners that have committed support to the project and innovative win-win partnerships.
Develop and execute strategies to expand the pool of prospective donors / funders and create connections that lead to sustained philanthropic partnerships for Retailar grantees with a special focus on building corporate partnerships.
The CEO will take a lead role and oversee the implementation of all activities relevant to the Partnership process cycle, including building partnerships with financial institutions, both with banks and non-traditional institutions, such as private equity, venture capital, and impact investors, completing preliminary analysis of potential projects, conducting and supporting due diligence efforts (technical, financial, and legal), negotiation, financial closings, and to monitoring & evaluation, after start of development.
As lead of the investment partnership activity in Nigeria, the CEO will coordinate and stimulate interaction, and provide leadership in close collaboration with the Board Advisory, the Grants team, and the financial management team.
External Relations and Stakeholder Management:
Establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders as identified (e.g. government ministries, other foundational and corporate leaders)
Responsible for building and maintaining a positive reputation for the organisation, one that engenders trust and credibility
Primary spokesperson for the organisation, representing both the organisation and its parent with business, government and development leaders, and on public platforms; facilitating roundtables and other leadership meetings with C-suite executives and other senior representatives of partners and stakeholders
Program Design and Research:
Lead idea generation and packaging of creative concepts and technical information to educate partners, drive partnerships and collective action, and identify/support opportunities
Conduct research to identify unmet needs, gaps, and funding opportunities in the E-commerce sector that informs the organisation’s our work in designing high-impact programs and other philanthropic strategies.
Organisation Management:
Staff: Responsible for overall recruitment and performance of employee; grow and mentor team to implement and coordinate programs and projects
Capability building: responsible for engaging staff and developing their capacity to deliver the organisation’s plans
Structure and governance: Working with legal counsel and management team, lead on local registrations; establish banking accounts / protocols, organisational policy and procedures, harmonising the parent company’s policy and local regulations / practices; commitment to health and safety standards.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree from leading university (or equivalent experience) in Business, Finance, International Relations, Communications or related field.
3- 5 years’ experience years managerial experience in a Start-up Company, with a track record of measurable accomplishments
Must have Prior experience in FMCG and must be a Tech Enthusiast
Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management and general finance and budgeting.
A track record of successfully planning and implementing new concepts, partnerships and / or campaigns; demonstrated ability to lead project teams and initiatives with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders
An understanding of fund-raising, shared value; experience in public-private partnerships and / or building, scaling and / or evaluating programs with corporate partners; knowledge of private sector networks.
Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills; demonstrated success in relationship building with a wide array of stakeholders at c-suite/senior level; demonstrated ability to influence internal and external audiences
Demonstrated leadership in consulting; building brands, products, portfolios; creating new business models and/or learning platforms with proven market results
