Francis Van-Lare, the father of Dr. Ikenna Erinne’s estranged partner, has responded to growing allegations surrounding the tragic death of the US-based Nigerian doctor.
Speaking out on social media, Van-Lare sought to address multiple misconceptions, particularly those regarding Erinne’s finances, medical license, and child support obligations.

In a statement posted on Facebook, Van-Lare firmly rejected rumors that Erinne’s medical license had been revoked due to financial difficulties.
He clarified that Erinne had maintained valid medical licenses in multiple states, including Illinois, New York, Virginia, and Maryland.
“To set the record straight, Dr. Ikenna Erinne’s license was never revoked. He had active licenses in these states, and one state cannot revoke all licenses at once,” Van-Lare wrote, dispelling claims that the doctor’s professional credentials had been affected.
Another contentious issue that followed Erinne’s death was his child support arrangement, which some had speculated was linked to his financial troubles. Van-Lare explained that the court-mandated child support was a result of Erinne’s son’s special needs, which required extensive medical care and attendance at a specialized school.

“The child support was set that high because he has a physically challenged son who needs special care from different medical facilities. The courts consider both parents’ incomes when making such decisions,” Van-Lare clarified, emphasizing that Erinne was not a victim of unfair financial obligations.
Despite the court-ordered support, Van-Lare expressed frustration with his son-in-law’s failure to prioritize his children, particularly in light of Erinne’s devastating decision to take his own life.
“He failed his son and daughter, and now they’re without their father. Which sane person takes his own life over the money he is supposed to use to support his children?” Van-Lare remarked, conveying deep sorrow over the tragic outcome.
Van-Lare also addressed the distressing hostage situation that had occurred before Erinne’s death, in which he reportedly held his ex-wife and children at gunpoint for hours. “I thank God that he did not shoot my daughter and grandchildren in his madness,” Van-Lare stated, condemning Erinne’s actions as irrational and harmful.

Additionally, Van-Lare sought to correct misinformation about his daughter’s background, rejecting false claims that she was brought from Nigeria by Erinne. He stressed that she was born in Long Island, New York, and was a full U.S. citizen, highlighting her achievements as a scholar and athlete.
In the final part of his statement, Van-Lare expressed his family’s determination to care for the children despite the hardships. “My family will raise the children without him, regardless of what’s happened,” he said, concluding with a prayer for peace and rest for Erinne’s soul.
