Rumors have emerged on social media about VeryDarkMan’s alleged purchase of a multi-million naira Mercedes Benz AMG, following claims that ₦180 million had been stolen from a ₦200 million NGO fund.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that speculation gained traction after an individual posted on platform X (formerly Twitter) in response to reports about the influencer’s alleged loss.

The claims stated that VeryDarkMan’s NGO website was hacked, leading to the theft of ₦180 million. However, shortly after the incident was reported, rumors suggested that VeryDarkMan had bought the luxury car.

The influencer, questioning the validity of the claims, wrote: “VeryDarkMan said ₦180 million is missing because his NGO site was hacked. Today, we heard he bought a Mercedes Benz AMG. My question is: Is the money in a bank account opened for the NGO, or was it on the website? Please explain to us like we’re in primary school.”

EDITOR’S PICKS

The post sparked a wave of reactions, with many social media users expressing skepticism and demanding clarity on the situation. Some questioned the logic of storing funds on a website, while others speculated that the influencer was playing a game.

Reactions included:

@Engr_Ashile: “Money can make anybody do whatever they preach against.”

@buzzedison: “What I have been wondering. The money cannot be sitting on a website.”

@Ashabul_Jannaah: “If I speak my mind now, they’ll say it’s because I don’t like him. But honestly, 160 million missing and a Benz showing up? Even primary 2 pupils would ask for an explanation. Transparency isn’t too much to ask.”

@VivaDido: “They can’t hack his bank account through his website. Websites do not hold money, but can only be used to set a payment gateway. For money to be stolen, it has to be directly with the bank and the information for such would only be with the account holder, not in the website.”

@StarCroft_Arch: “Y’all are falling into a trap… dude never lost the money… he is only playing… Just waiting to hear back.”

@kattiekitchens: “Me seff I need to sit down to be taught.”

The ongoing speculation has led to widespread discussion, with many calling for transparency and further explanation from VeryDarkMan.
