EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement on Monday, WAEC confirmed that the 2025 WASSCE results were officially released, with 38.32 percent of candidates securing five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
Shortly after the announcement, a fake circular began spreading on WhatsApp, claiming that 120 schools, mostly in Lagos State, had been summoned to appear before WAEC’s Investigative Panel.
The fabricated document, purportedly signed by WAEC’s Director of Examination Malpractice and Irregularities, Dr. Florence Omobonike Ajayi, instructed the schools to submit “relevant documents and scripts of affected candidates” on or before August 16, 2025.
WAEC, however, debunked the circular, stressing that it never issued such a notice and would never request schools to produce examination scripts.
“The message never emanated from us,” WAEC told Tribune Online.
“Moreover, WAEC will never ask any school to bring the scripts of their candidates to the office. Where would they get them from? We don’t know schools by their names. We only know centres and their Centre Numbers.”

The examination body urged candidates, parents, and the public to disregard the viral message, emphasizing the need to confirm any information concerning WASSCE through WAEC’s official platforms to avoid being misled by false reports.
