The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has warned Nigerians to be cautious of fraudsters misusing its logo on TikTok.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement released by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity, the anti-corruption agency confirmed that it does not operate an official TikTok account and urged the public to disregard any accounts claiming to be affiliated with the Commission.

The warning comes after fraudsters hosted a live session on TikTok on February 27, 2025, using six fake accounts that featured the EFCC logo and names of non-existent directorates.
The fraudulent profiles included names such as “EFCC of Nigeria,” “EFCC Lagos,” “EFCC Delta,” “EFCC of Benin,” “EFCC of Jos,” and “EFCC Saga.” The EFCC has advised Nigerians to ignore any TikTok accounts bearing its insignia.
In related news, EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede disclosed that foreign fraudsters are setting up criminal cells in Nigerian cities. According to Olukoyede, these organized groups are recruiting young Nigerians to carry out illicit activities.

He made the remarks during a session with participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course at the National Institute for Security Studies, where he also mentioned that these fraudsters are illegally importing arms into Nigeria and using cryptocurrency for their transactions.
