Weddings Guests Die, Others Injured In Fatal Road Accident In Jigawa

EKO HOT BLOG reports that at Least fourteen people reportedly sustained degrees of injuries in a fatal road accident that happened over the weekend in Jigawa State.

This online media platform gathered that the accident happened on Saturday evening along Hadejia/Kano Road by Boarding Primary School, Ringim town in the Ringim Local Government Area of the state.

The State Command of the Nigeria Police Force confirmed to newsmen that two people died in the accident involving a BTW Toyota Costa, white in colour, with registration No FTA 458 HV KAT STA, belonging to College of Health Science & Technology Funtua, Katsina State.

According to the Command’s spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the vehicle was consisting of the driver and 38 passengers who were returning from Hadejia to Katsina after they had attended a friend’s wedding in Hadejia Local Government of the state.

He said on reaching Ringim Boarding Primary school, he rammed into a parked truck, with registration No RNG 580 XC driven by one Ibrahim Hafizu of Unguwa Uku Tarauni Local Government Area in Kano State.

The personnel explained further that those injured in the accident were immediately rushed to Ringim General Hospital for medical attention.

“Two persons, one Usman Ibrahim and Ahmadu Hamisu died while twelve others sustained injuries,” the PPRO said.

He noted that the Truck’s driver was arrested and that investigation was ongoing.
