A female driver has lost her life after the Toyota Sienna she was driving veered off the road and crashed into a roadside building at Mongoro, inward Ile-Zik, in Lagos.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday, describing it as a tragic lone accident.

According to the agency, preliminary findings showed that the driver, who was behind the wheel of a Toyota Sienna with registration number LND 162 HB, lost control of the vehicle before it left the road and rammed into a nearby building.
LASTMA said the impact of the crash was severe, and the woman died at the scene. She was the only occupant of the vehicle.
The agency disclosed that its officials, who were on routine patrol in the area, responded immediately after receiving reports of the accident.
Its personnel secured the scene with safety cones and managed traffic to prevent congestion and secondary accidents while recovery and evacuation operations were carried out.
Although the crash briefly disrupted traffic along the route, LASTMA said normal vehicular movement was restored within a short time due to the prompt intervention of its officers.
The agency added that operatives from the Afonka Police Post under the Shasha Divisional Police Headquarters provided security throughout the operation until the vehicle was evacuated.
Reacting to the incident, the General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the accident as a painful reminder of the dangers of speeding and reckless driving.
He urged motorists to obey speed limits, noting that traffic regulations are designed to protect lives and reduce avoidable road crashes.
Bakare-Oki also advised drivers to ensure their vehicles are in good mechanical condition before embarking on any journey, stressing that any sign of mechanical fault should be addressed immediately before the vehicle is put back on the road.
He extended the agency’s condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for the strength to bear the loss.
