President Bola Tinubu has directed Nigeria’s security chiefs to intensify and better coordinate ongoing military operations across the country following renewed attacks on troops in the North-East.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the President gave the charge during a high-level, closed-door security meeting held on Monday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, which brought together the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, service chiefs, intelligence heads, and the Inspector-General of Police.

Tinubu, according to Presidency sources, urged the security leadership to adopt more aggressive and intelligence-driven strategies in dealing with insurgents and other armed groups responsible for recent killings of soldiers and civilians.
He reportedly stressed the need for stronger coordination among the armed forces and intelligence agencies, warning that lapses in collaboration must be eliminated to ensure more effective operations on the ground.
The meeting was convened shortly after the killing of a senior army officer and six soldiers in Borno State, an incident that further raised concerns over the safety of troops engaged in counter-insurgency operations.
The President also reiterated the importance of leveraging both local and international partnerships to strengthen Nigeria’s security response. He noted that ongoing cooperation with foreign allies, including France, would be sustained to enhance military training, intelligence sharing, and equipment support.
Tinubu is said to have emphasized accountability and results, charging security chiefs to ensure that ongoing operations deliver measurable improvements in the fight against terrorism and banditry.
