Oshiomhole predicts repeated losses for opposition alliance attempts.
Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election, insisting that opposition leaders Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi pose no real threat.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, the former Edo State Governor said both Atiku and Obi, whether contesting together or separately, lack the political strength to unseat Tinubu or the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oshiomhole recalled that the duo had been defeated by the APC in previous elections, stressing that history will repeat itself in 2027.
He said, “Did Atiku and Obi not run together before and contest against APC? You can throw any number you want, but the point is that when these two ran together, they were loudly defeated by the APC. So why are you suggesting that if they reunite, the outcome would be different?”
The former APC National Chairman further dismissed speculations about possible political alliances, describing them as recycled strategies that have consistently failed.

“You are the one recycling history. They have a history of being defeated together, and a history of being defeated apart. They ran together, they were defeated. They ran separately, they were defeated. If they come back together, very good they will still be defeated,” Oshiomhole declared.
