Epe residents have continued to shower praises on the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, following the successful launch of the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer and Empowerment Programme, which has brought relief, joy, and renewed confidence to families across the community.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the initiative, in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, empowered 100 residents with ₦100,000 monthly grants for 20 months and distributed essential vocational tools such as grinding machines, sewing machines, hair dryers, fishing nets, and safety jackets to enhance productivity and self-sufficiency.

Among the beneficiaries was Iya Ibeta,a mother of triplets, who moved the audience to tears with her heartfelt testimony.
She recounted how the chairman had been a constant source of support from her pregnancy days to the birth of her children, and now, through the empowerment scheme.
“I can never forget the help I received from our chairman when I was carrying these children,” she said emotionally.
“She stood by me, supported me till I gave birth, and now she is empowering me with a grinding machine to help me provide for my babies. May God bless her abundantly.”
Another beneficiary, a fisherman , described the initiative as a life-changer for low-income earners.
“This is not the first time her support is coming directly to people like us. Princess Surah understands what her people truly need,” he stated.
A tailor, another beneficiary, also spoke about how the sewing machine she received would transform her business.
“This is more than just assistance, it’s a new beginning. I’ve been managing with an old machine for years, but with this new one, I can take on more clients and train young apprentices,” she said.
Similarly, a hairdresser, expressed her joy, describing the empowerment as timely support.
“I’m grateful to our chairman for this opportunity. The hair dryer and cash support will help me expand my salon and employ others,” she said.
In her address, Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun encouraged all beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity provided to them.
“I encourage all beneficiaries to make good use of this opportunity so that the real change can begin with you,” she said.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is focused on eradicating poverty from the grassroots and together, we must ensure that vision succeeds.”
She also urged residents to get their Permanent Voter Cards ready to ensure continuity of good governance.
“Let us all get our PVCs ready so that the good work can continue beyond 2027,” she advised.
The atmosphere at the Epe Local Government Secretariat was charged with excitement and appreciation, as community leaders and residents commended the chairman for her compassion, consistency, and people-first approach to governance.
