Billionaire lotto magnate and philanthropist Sir Kessington Adebutu (Baba Ijebu) announced a massive donation of ₦1 billion each to Sagamu, Ikenne Local Government Areas, and his hometown, Iperu-Remo, to enhance socio-economic and community development across these areas.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that Adebutu made the surprise announcement on Friday while speaking at a symposium celebrating the start of his 90th birthday festivities. The businessman, who appeared visibly moved by the tribute, said the event was an “invitation to do more for our people.”

He urged the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, to assemble a team to propose specific ₦1 billion projects for Sagamu and Ikenne Local Governments. The Iperu Akesan Development Association will receive the third billion for Iperu-Remo.

Panelists at the symposium, including Professor Ebun Oduwole, lauded Adebutu as an “extraordinarily altruistic individual” and a “living legend” whose philanthropy transforms education, healthcare, and infrastructure nationwide.
The Akarigbo also praised the Balogun of Remoland for his legendary kindness and support for the traditional institution, urging citizens to follow his selfless example.
