EKO HOT BLOG reports that it also confirmed the dismissal of two junior officers over criminal offences, including kidnapping, stealing, and illegal possession of firearms.
The disciplinary actions followed the recommendations of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) Disciplinary and General Purpose Committee, which convened on July 11, 2025.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the NIS Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, the Board reviewed 31 disciplinary cases involving NIS officers and personnel before reaching its decisions.
Akinlabi explained that five officers received written warnings, while two dismissed officers had their appeals rejected for lack of merit. One officer, however, was reinstated after a successful appeal, and two others were cleared of all charges.

He identified the two dismissed junior personnel as Aliyu Usman (AII) and Chukwu Nancy Ngozi (CIA), noting that they were found guilty after due disciplinary proceedings concluded on April 14 and September 4, 2025.
Reaffirming the Service’s zero tolerance for corruption and misconduct, Akinlabi said the NIS, under the leadership of Comptroller-General Kemi Nandap and the supervision of the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, remains committed to maintaining professionalism and discipline across all ranks.
