EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a communiqué issued after its 18th General Meeting, the Forum reaffirmed its confidence in the PDP Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Umar Damagum, while condemning “desperate attempts” by some members to derail the party’s upcoming national convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Forum’s National Secretary, Dr. Abbas Sadauki, said the decision to defend the unity of the PDP was unanimous and resolute. “No amount of political intimidation or blackmail will stop the successful organisation of the national convention in Ibadan,” he declared.
He alleged that some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) were colluding with external forces to destabilise the party from within. “Those misleading groups within the party to scuttle the convention are mere jokers—predators unleashed against the collective interest. Their alliance with enemies of progress will soon end in political shame,” Sadauki stated.
The group accused Wike of leading the internal sabotage, saying his actions were driven by personal ambition. “Some ungrateful elements under Wike’s guidance are bent on destroying everything good about the PDP. Whether through court cases or misuse of power, their mission is clear—to wreck the party. But they will fail,” he said.

The Forum commended Damagum and other loyal party stakeholders for their steadfastness in steering the PDP toward unity ahead of the 2027 general elections. It also cautioned the judiciary and President Bola Tinubu against political manipulation by desperate actors, urging all members to respect the NEC’s decision and protect the party’s integrity.
