An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court has cleared Miss Comfort Emmason of charges related to unruly behavior and assaulting the flight crew on an Ibom Air flight.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the court’s decision came after the police prosecution team, citing new developments, formally withdrew the five-count charge against her. Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the case, effectively discharging Emmason.

Following consultations with key aviation stakeholders, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, announced the decisions. He based these resolutions on a review of the incidents, appeals from concerned individuals, and the remorse that those involved expressed.
According to Minister Festus Keyamo, Ibom Air has agreed to withdraw its complaint against Emmason, whom police arrested after the August 10 incident.
After her arraignment on Monday, the court granted Emmason bail for N500,000 with two sureties. However, she could not meet the conditions, so the court remanded her at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
At a later hearing, the prosecutor, Oluwabunmi Adeitan, informed the court that new developments had necessitated the withdrawal of the case.
