The 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army has applauded the Ondo State Government for its swift and decisive action following a recent security alert over a planned terrorist attack by the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in parts of the state.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that it was earlier reported that the Department of State Services (DSS) had issued a security advisory to the Brigade Commander regarding a suspected ISWAP plot targeting several communities across Ondo. The letter, signed by H.I. Kana on behalf of the DSS, was titled “Imminent Attacks in Ondo State by Members of ISWAP.”
According to the memo, the targeted areas included Eriti-Akoko and Oyin-Akoko in Akoko North-West Local Government Area, as well as Owo town, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area.
Speaking during an official visit to the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Idowu Ajanaku, in Akure on Thursday, the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Major Njoka Irabor, said Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s prompt reaction showed his strong commitment to protecting lives and property.
“The governor’s immediate convening of an emergency security meeting and his directive for all security agencies to be on full alert demonstrated exemplary leadership and proactive governance,” Irabor said.
He also commended the state government for its continued support to the military and other security formations, adding that such cooperation had been vital in maintaining peace and safety across Ondo State.
Major Irabor recalled that Governor Aiyedatiwa had recently presented utility vehicles and operational equipment to security agencies to strengthen their effectiveness and readiness.
In his remarks, Commissioner Ajanaku praised the military for its dedication to safeguarding residents and assured that the government would continue to work closely with all security agencies through public enlightenment and community engagement.

He also urged residents to remain alert and report suspicious activities to authorities, emphasizing that timely intelligence remains crucial to sustaining peace in the state.
