As the activities marking the 10th Year Anniversary of the Epe Division Professional Women Association (EPWA) continue, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, who also serves as the Chairman of Chairmen, Conference 57 of Local Government and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, and the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess (Dr.) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, have commended the laudable contributions of the association in the last decade.
Eko Hot Blog reports that both leaders assured EPWA of their administrations’ partnership to further drive the development of Epe Division in the nearest future.
While speaking at the Annual Girls Summit and Empowerment Programme held at the Ibeju-Lekki Secretariat, Hon. Olowa appreciated the members and executives of the association for their steadfastness and commitment to community service, especially in uplifting women and the girl-child.
“I want to commend you for the great job which has no reward from anywhere that you do. Your empowerment programme has been very helpful and impactful.
I pray you keep it up for the betterment of our people in Epe Division,” Hon. Olowa stated.
Similarly, during the Walk for Fitness held earlier in Epe, Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun described EPWA members as “dedicated professionals who care deeply about the well-being of others, especially the girl-child.”
Speaking further, she said, “I want to advise our ladies and girls to emulate the members of EPWA, who are doing fantastically well in their various chosen careers. Parents should not see their girl-child as a nonentity, but as a great asset.
They must be given good formal education so that they too can become successful, responsible, and responsive leaders of tomorrow.”
Both chairmen jointly wished the association many more years of impactful initiatives and greater achievements in service to humanity.
The celebration earlier featured a vibrant Walk for Fitness led by Hon. Princess (Dr.) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, which took participants through the heart of Epe and concluded at the Traffic Light area of Aiyetoro amidst cheers.
During the walk, members sensitized the public on EPWA’s numerous contributions toward women and youth empowerment in the division.
At the Annual Girls Summit and Empowerment Programme, the Managing Director/CEO of Ginger Up Nigeria Limited and Deputy Director, Lekki Free Trade Zone Development Company,
Mrs. Bolatito Ajibode, delivered the keynote address on the theme “Dare To Fly: Inspiring Leadership, Igniting Growth.” She encouraged participants to pursue excellence and leadership with courage and vision.
“Leadership is not about position but about impact. Every girl here has the potential to lead — to influence, inspire, and ignite change,” Mrs. Ajibode said.
EPWA President, Mrs. Folake Oluyemi Johnson, reiterated the association’s mission to promote inclusiveness and empowerment.
“Our focus has always been to create opportunities for women and youths to thrive, irrespective of their background. Empowerment is not just financial; it’s about knowledge, confidence, and purpose,” she stated.

Twenty (20) beneficiaries, including women and youths, were empowered with ₦200,000 each to support business startups or educational needs.
The event concluded with the Foundation Laying Ceremony of a Skill Acquisition Centre beside Anglican Primary School, near Jubilee Chalet, Epe.
Later, the professional women paid a courtesy visit to HRH Olori Aribike Adewale, widow of the late Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, to share the association’s achievements and plans for future community projects.
Olori Adewale, in her response, expressed joy at their visit. “It gladdens my heart to see professional women in Epe working together to build a better society. You are keeping the spirit of unity and progress alive,” she said.
