In a heartfelt address to the people of Epe, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, officially resumed office on Monday, 28th July 2025, marking the beginning of her second term as the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government.
Ekohotblog reports that standing before a hopeful crowd, Princess Animashaun expressed deep gratitude to God and to the people of Epe for entrusting her once again with the responsibility to serve. She described the moment as “not just a continuation, it is a new dawn,” pledging a renewed commitment to integrity, vision, and grassroots development.

The re-elected Chairman appreciated a wide range of stakeholders, including traditional rulers, party members, artisans, youths, civil servants, and community leaders, for their unwavering support during the election.
“Your trust means everything, and I do not take it for granted,” she said, acknowledging the contributions of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led at the national level by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom she hailed as an inspiration to many.
Princess Surah also expressed her gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat for laying down a progressive model of governance through the THEMES+ agenda.
“Our first term was about building the foundation and now, the next four years will focus on completing, consolidating, and advancing,” she stated, introducing her Second Term Strategic Development Blueprint with key focus areas including infrastructure, healthcare, education, youth empowerment, environmental development, digital innovation, and community security.
In a passionate appeal to the youths of Epe, she emphasized their role in the administration’s agenda.
“You are not only the future, you are the energy of our present… We will support your creativity, sharpen your skills, and expand opportunities that will enable you to thrive.”
Asserting her continued commitment to inclusive and people-centered governance, the Chairman called for unity across political, cultural, and religious lines.
“Epe belongs to us all, and its success must be our shared mission. Let us lead with purpose. Let us work with love. Let us build with strength.”
The address ended with a reaffirmation of her dedication to public service and a prayer for the prosperity of Epe, Lagos State, and Nigeria at large.
