As part of activities marking its
10th Year Anniversary, the Epe Division Professional Women Association (EPWA) extended its humanitarian efforts to Òwu-Ikosi Town Hall, Ibeju-Lekki, where it organized a comprehensive medical outreach for residents of the community.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the outreach, which drew a large turnout of beneficiaries from Òwu-Ikosi and neighboring communities, featured free medical screening, dental care, medication distribution, and general treatments for both young and elderly participants.
The initiative was one of the many impactful community programmes lined up to commemorate a decade of purposeful service by EPWA.
Speaking at the outreach, the former General Manager of Lagos Television, Mrs. Folake Moore, expressed deep satisfaction with the success of the association’s activities over the years.
She noted that EPWA’s 10-year journey has been defined by consistent empowerment initiatives, educational support, and humanitarian projects aimed at improving the standard of living in Epe Division and beyond.
“In the last ten years, we have empowered several women and youths across the Epe Division through business grants, skills acquisition, and scholarship schemes,” Mrs. Moore said.
“Our goal has always been to uplift families, especially women, because we believe that when a woman is empowered, the whole community thrives.”
She added that the association has consistently responded to community needs through palliative distributions, medical interventions, and mentorship programmes designed to inspire the next generation of professional women.
“EPWA’s journey is one of service, compassion, and commitment to humanity. This medical outreach is another testament to our promise to always give back to our people,” she remarked.
In her address, the immediate past president of the association, Mrs. Opeoluwa Adeyemi, highlighted the significance of the medical outreach and its role in promoting community wellness.
She noted that EPWA’s impact goes beyond health — extending into education, economic empowerment, and skill development.
“This medical outreach is not our first, and it won’t be our last,” Mrs. Adeyemi said. “Over the years, we have organized countless empowerment programmes, distributed business start-up funds, and offered scholarships to students.
We are currently working on a vocational center that will train women and youths in various skills to make them self-reliant. Our mission is to ensure that more lives are touched and more families are lifted out of poverty.”
Residents of Òwu-Ikosi expressed gratitude to EPWA for bringing quality healthcare and compassion to their doorstep.

Beneficiaries who received medical treatment and medications praised the women for their selfless service, describing the outreach as a timely intervention in a period of economic hardship.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Adetutu Adefemi, said, “I came for a checkup and dental screening, and I was treated with care and given free medication. I’m very grateful to these women for remembering our community.”
The medical outreach ended with group photographs, health education sessions, and expressions of appreciation from community leaders, who lauded EPWA for being a beacon of hope and progress in Epe Division.
