In a bid to strengthen public health and environmental safety, the Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has directed the comprehensive fumigation of all Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and major public facilities across the council area.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the proactive exercise, carried out under the supervision of the Environmental Health Department, covered several strategic locations including Lekki PHC, Origanrigan PHC, Magbon Segun PHC, Folu PHC, Idotun PHC, Okunraye PHC, the Doctors’ Quarters, and the Lekki LCDA Secretariat.

Engr. Kasali stated that the fumigation exercise is part of his administration’s continuous effort to safeguard residents’ health and ensure a clean and disease-free environment.
“A healthy community is a productive community. We are committed to maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene in all our public facilities,” he emphasized.
He further noted that the fumigation is in line with his administration’s health policy, which prioritizes preventive measures against communicable diseases such as malaria, cholera, and other vector-borne illnesses.
The exercise employed eco-friendly chemicals to minimize environmental impact while ensuring effective pest and germ control.

Residents and health workers in the affected communities expressed appreciation to the council boss, describing the initiative as timely and commendable.
