Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has directed all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to revalidate their membership at their individual wards. This directive came during his first official visit to the APC state secretariat in Uyo.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the revalidation exercise, which is meant to get an accurate count of party members, is scheduled to start on August 4, 2025, and will last for about a month, noting that a register will be sent to all wards through their chairmen.

Governor Eno stressed that all members, regardless of their status, must take part in this process, which will be followed by a digital registration at the national level. The governor also used the opportunity to show his support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating that things are “stabilising.”
He also praised President Tinubu for releasing funds to the state, which has made it possible for him to work on projects and pay workers on time.
Furthermore, the governor set up a new 10-person committee to find land, raise money, and build a suitable new secretariat for the party. The state party chairman, Obong Ntukekpo, thanked the governor for his leadership, describing it as a sign of grace, compassion, and a commitment to include everyone.
