Epe LG was alive with excitement on Monday, November 17, 2025, as the youth of the council gathered to celebrate and commend the Executive Chairman, Hon. Princess (Dr.) Surah Olayemi Animashaun FHTI, for her outstanding performance since becoming the first female Executive Chairman of the council.


Eko Hot Blog reports that in an interactive sessio with the youths, Hon. Surah highlighted the numerous initiatives of her administration aimed at uplifting the people of Epe.

She empowered 100 girls with ₦50,000 each and exercise books as part of her commitment to education and youth development. In recognition of her contributions, she was presented with an Award of Excellence.
Dr. Seriki Muritala Ishola, APC Youth Leader, Lagos State, who presented the award, said, “Hon. Surah has demonstrated unparalleled dedication to the development of Epe. Her visionary leadership and empowerment initiatives are a model for all.”
The chairman was warmly received by her Vice, Hon. Sikiru Owolomoshe; APC LGA Chairman, Hon. Toyin Gbadamoshi; Leader of Epe Legislative Arm, Hon. Adesoye Araba; alongside other executive and legislative members, council management, and youths.
While delivering her stewardship account, Hon. Surah stated, “Our administration has continued to prioritize the welfare and health of the people of Epe. We believe that investing in our people is investing in our future.”
She further explained, “We have commenced construction of Doctors’ Quarters, regularly foot medical bills for indigent patients at Federal Medical Centre, Epe and LASUTH, and recently conducted free hernia surgeries at Papa Health Centre.”
She added, “Our Primary Health Centres are being upgraded to ensure quality healthcare in the absence of a General Hospital, until the state government provides another facility for the people of Epe.
