The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems, Mr. Emmanuel Audu, has tasked newly graduated agripreneurs to utilise their training to drive innovation, enhance food production, and contribute meaningfully to Lagos State’s agricultural transformation agenda.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Mr. Audu gave the charge during the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of the Lagos Agripreneurship Programme (LAP), Agege Campus, held at the Farm Service and Entrepreneurial Centre, Agege.

Speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary commended the graduates for their dedication throughout the intensive training period, emphasizing the vital role they now play in strengthening the agricultural value chain.
“You have acquired the skills needed to become key drivers of agricultural development in Lagos State. Apply what you have learned to boost food security, create wealth, and support the sustainable transformation of our food systems,” he said.
Mr. Audu explained that the Lagos Agripreneurship Programme is one of the State Government’s strategic interventions aimed at equipping young people with modern farming skills, agribusiness knowledge, and the capacity to contribute to the State’s vision for a resilient and food-secure Lagos.
He added that the success of the first cohort demonstrates the State’s commitment to building a new generation of empowered agripreneurs who are prepared to embrace innovation and modern technology in agriculture.
The graduates expressed appreciation to the Ministry for the opportunity and pledged to put their training to practical use for the benefit of the State and its residents.
