The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar following his decision to formally join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement issued on Wednesday, the party’s spokesman, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, said Atiku’s switch to the ADC at the age of 80 reflects what he described as a long-running pattern of changing political platforms.

Oladejo questioned the motivation behind the former vice-president’s latest move, suggesting it highlighted a continued search for political relevance.

According to him, Atiku’s history of moving across political parties and repeated attempts at the presidency had contributed to internal challenges within some of those parties. He added that the decision to join the ADC raised concerns about what the former vice-president hopes to achieve next.
Oladejo also argued that Atiku’s departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) followed prolonged internal disagreements within the party. He questioned how someone he claimed had struggled to unify the PDP could manage the complexities of governing a country.
Atiku’s move to the ADC comes as political alignments continue ahead of future elections, with parties and influential figures positioning themselves for emerging opportunities.
